The first tennis tip we have is to know your players. Not just the top 10 guys or so, but as many tennis players that you can track the better. Normally at the beginning of the tournament the odds on the top 10 guys are going to be astronomical and are very seldom worthy of a straight bet. Knowing the ins and outs of the players in the rest of the field will create some profitable betting opportunities the first couple rounds.

The two main options for your tennis betting are betting to win the tournament and matchups. Early in the tournament if you are able to find matchups they will be very highly priced since top players rarely lose early in a tournament. Another tip to tennis betting is to really understand which players play well on each surface. Tennis is a sport where there are 3 different playing surfaces, clay, grass, and hard court. Some players are great on one surface but struggle on another. Some players play better on grass than the hard court. Each player has particular strengths and weaknesses and it is important to understand their style of play.

Tennis betting really involved the U.S. Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the Australian Open. The majors are really the only time you will see interest from most sportsbooks when it comes to tennis. As a tennis betting player you should be familiar with each of the tournaments and their surfaces. You should also be aware of the player’s tendencies at these tournaments and whether or not they have particular surface advantages over other players. You sure don’t want to be playing a clay court specialist at Wimbledon and conversely you don’t want to be playing a grass court expert at the French Open.
Tennis betting is an area of sports betting where you may be able to find an edge if you do a little research. Hopefully you will find some profit the next time you bet tennis.

Now we mentioned how the odds are going to astronomical on the top 10 guys the first couple rounds or so of the tourney in our first tennis betting tip. Well the next tip is don&’t be afraid to make a parlay bet on some of those big favorites. Tennis is one of the few sports where actually recommend betting parlays. A lot of the time the top 10 players are matched up against qualifiers or players that have no business being on the same court as them. A 3 or 4 player parlay can yield some nice dividends if all 3 or 4 guys are prohibited favorites to take the match. You can take a look at the tennis odds page if you would like to see the types of odds we are talking about.

The final tennis betting tip is more of a handicapping tip but it is imperative to know how each player plays on each playing surface. Tennis is one of the few sports where there are 3 different playing surfaces, clay, grass, and hard court. Some players are great clay court players but average on grass. Some players play better on grass than the hard court. It makes sense that some players play better on some surfaces than others as the ball reacts differently on clay, grass, and the hard court. Everyones strengths and weaknesses are different and knowing their style of play on each surface is a true test on how a player will fair on any given day.

Hopefully these tennis betting tips have taught you a few things you didn’t know about betting on tennis. And finally don’t forget about the tennis picks the handicappers at Bet on Tennis do provide for all visitors.
